WHAT WE BELIEVE IN
Pastor Steven Bennett Jr. is a Detroit-born pastor, leader, and visionary serving as Senior Pastor of House of Prayer & Praise Ministries. He is the only son of the late Bishop Steven Bennett Sr. and Overseer Valorie Bennett-Wiley, founders of the ministry whose legacy of faith, prayer, and community impact continues to shape the house. Affectionately known as Pastor Steve, he carries forward their vision while leading the church into a strengthened and forward-focused season of ministry.
Before being appointed Senior Pastor in January 2020, Pastor Steve served faithfully in youth ministry for over a decade, developing a deep passion for discipleship, leadership development, and generational impact. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Administration and leads with a balance of spiritual conviction and strategic insight. Under his leadership, House of Prayer & Praise reaches more than 1,500 viewers weekly while remaining deeply engaged in community outreach and service. He is also committed to equipping others, regularly providing leadership and public-speaking development for both clergy and communicators.
Pastor Steve has been married to his wife, Ebony Bennett, since 2009. Elder Ebony is an ordained elder of the church and serves alongside him in ministry and leadership. Together, they are the proud parents of four daughters—Kylee, Gabriella, Ava, and Sydney. Pastor Steve believes his home is his first ministry and leads with integrity both publicly and privately. Known for preaching the gospel with clarity, warmth, and timely insight, his messages blend biblical depth with authenticity and moments of humor, inspiring individuals and families to grow stronger in faith and purpose.
